19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time trainer Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first championship following the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I won when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
The player's retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional victory, gained dominance to force a third set.
He saved 4 early-game break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
