Despite embarking on their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding win that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

Another victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal direct entry to the last 16, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity

This match offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second consecutive succession.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.

A solitary worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
